BEIJING — Blind legal activist Chen Guangcheng, who emerged at the center of a diplomatic row between the U.S. and China, left Beijing on a United Airlines flight bound for Newark, N.J., Saturday afternoon after Chinese officials and American diplomats swiftly arranged his travel out of the country for an uncertain new life in the United States.
He’s living Communist China for Ultra Blue New Jersey? Other than the smell and the language, will he be able to tell the difference?
Sorry, cheap shot. I apologize to all my friends in Beijing for comparing them to New Jersey.
Seriously, I’m pleasantly surprised that the Chinese government let Chen leave the country and didn’t sadly announce that he had walked in front of a bus or something. Too bad, so sorry, we were going to let him go… Stuff like that.
Good luck to him, I hope he does well here in America. Which, despite it’s faults, is still a wonderful place to live.
