U.S. Soldiers Urged Not to Shoot Taliban at Night so Locals Can Sleep
Reports indicate U.S. soldiers and British Royal Marines have been urged to show “courageous constraint” by not shooting Taliban members spotted planting IEDs.
This is just stupid. It’s almost as if someone is playing a game to see how far they can push the NATO allies towards becoming ineffective troops. Or someone (allegedly on our side) doesn’t want us to win.

I’ve been thinking about this, and, of course, the key element here would be the nature of the explosives involved, but anyway: How about, when they spot someone carrying an IED, simply shooting the IED ?
If the explosives are unstable enough, the IED would depart, taking its owner with it – and if the explosives were to survive, the accompanying equipment may well then be beyond salvage, leaving the carrier purposeless.
(Obviously, the gun would need a silencer to satisfy regulations – but the idea ought to be acceptable for Coalition forces, and the noise of the explosion would be the responsibility of the Taliban.)
Ya that whole shooting thing is so disruptive to a good nights sleep. Why don’t NATO forces just do what the Taliban do, spend there time planting IED’s file them to get killed by?
Or one big bomb and they all could sleep very well
