We were on vacation and so I didn’t have much time for blogging. Vacation consisted of Graceland (for the Mrs.), then deep into the Heart of Dixie to meet the new grand daughter, followed by Nashville for various country music related activities. Lot’s of driving involved in that as you can imagine. As always, I enjoyed visiting the south. Tennessee is lovely. Well except for Memphis, which if not for FedEx and Elvis wouldn’t have much of a reason to exist. Block after block of abandoned buildings, interspersed with bail bondsmen, check cashing joints, pawn shops, and dollar stores. Hot and muggy as hell also. In contrast Chattanooga and Nashville were very nice, at least the parts we saw. I’m sure there are seedy parts of both cities and there is a fair amount of gang activity in Chattanooga. Still the bit we saw of the area was very nice. Same with Nashville and we hit town during some great weather. Mid 70s and low humidity in mid August. What more can you ask for?
Friendly people, I guess. Which is mostly what we ran in to.
Back to what passes for work on Tuesday. Seems like we’ve been gone forever, but it was only 10 days.
I think we’ll be back to Nashville and Chattanooga soon.
